Women and the Men Who Support Them at Coinsquare

femmebought followers, you're in for a treat thanks to Ken Tsang, Chief Financial Officer at Coinsquare. Ken is a femmebought supporter who works with trailblazing women leaders in Blockchain and Cryptocurrency. Ken introduced me to 3 incredible women leaders at Coinsquare - Jennifer Tkachuk-Tremblay, Managing Director, Head of Capital Markets, Leah Carr, Vice President, Licensing, and Charlene Cieslik, Chief AML Officer. But back to Ken - I asked him what it's like to have recently made the move from a large corporation to a start-up? Smiling, he said, it's not for everyone - but I personally like the start-up environment. I've been here before, when I was in Silicon Valley. It's great to see things really happening and happening fast.

As I pet one of the dogs in the office, I asked Ken if he would go back to corporate life. The start-up environment is so different from Bay Street/Wall Street. You feel it in the office vibe. "I don't think I could go back to before…to corporate life." Who can blame him? It's exciting to be part of such an incredible venture. What impressed me is the level of sophistication of the work being done, it’s hard to beat! And its so exciting and intriguing, from blockchain to investment funds and capital markets to keeping up with regulations, to AML and risk management.

As Ken and I continued chatting he described the really exciting work going on at Coinsquare and the great women leaders in technology and blockchain there who are making it happen. femmebought supporters…you know this was music to my ears! Ken and I spoke about the importance of the growth of women in the technology space, which is when Ken made sure to introduce me to the trailblazing women leaders. I can't wait for our next installment where I get to talk more indepthly with them.
